I'm finally updating the blog. (I'm not a slacker, just busy) I only have time to post two letters. Here we go...

11/03/08
Today is a weird day. Normally it would be our p-day, but it's not, sorta. It makes about as much sense to me as it does to you probably. We're doing email today and shopping, but for some reason it doesn't count as p-day. We have district meeting today, rather than Tuesday. Our 'p-day' is going to be Wednesday cuz we are going to the temple. I think we normally go to the temple every 6th Wednesday, and this will be the 5th Wednesday.. I don't understand why everything is outta wack but whatever. I'm glad I get to email today and go to the temple though! It seems like it's been forever since I got to go to the temple last!
Halloween rocked! The district came over to the Tash (my house - somebody tell me how to spell tash ma hall) and we got to use the upstairs too! The Marx work at the temple Friday and said we could hang out upstairs. We had some awesome chili, provided by Sister Marx, and tons of cookies and junk that Sister Vanoi and Sister Tovar brought! Then we all played bang after our lesson-training part of district meeting! Elder Hullinger didn't like it so much cuz we killed him each round before long! Good thing he's a good sport though haha!
Everyone in the district gave somebody else a little bag of candy or something. Elder Penman got a nerf gun from one of the zl's! Poor Elder Ashton, he doesn't seem to enjoy the darts as much as Penman does. We had a few people show up with wigs and there was a wolf mask going around too. We kept the wolf mask with us pretty much the whole day before too, haha it was hilarious! We had it in the car with us I mean, while we sang to a new cd. Wish you were there to see it. Carl and Dan would've thought it was funny.
I took a few pictures of Halloween, I'll send them out Wednesday maybe {note from Renee, he never sent them}.. I don't know. I'll send them out sometime.
Before the party, Hightower, Penman, Ashton and myself blitzed part of the Suncrest area of mine and Elder Hightower's area. Blitzing means we all went up and tracted with two comanionships rather than one. It was good. We need some new investigators, and we have some soft potentials from the blitz too.
We're trying to do a lot of tracting and contacting right now. We need new investigators and we aren't finding them, not quickly anyway. The Hargrave family is still rockin and being baptized THIS Saturday!! We're still working with [boy] and his mom, just trying to help his mom work out her issues and let him get baptized. [Boy] and [Boy] are enjoying learning the gospel, they came to church yesterday! Actually [Boy]'s dad - a less active- came along too. I didn't sit with them, though, I sat with Tom (another less active). Tom is cool, he's going trough a divorce and is trying to find some money to keep up his house and junk, but he's coming to church again! He has some sweet faith. As for Shauna, Travis, and Keanu, we haven't been able to meet with them for about two weeks. We're taking them off of their baptism date if we can't get a hold of them before Wednesday.
hope you're all doing well. i am. elder hightower and i are still getting along great. there are days that are better than others but we get along fine for the most part. the two things that are annoying is 1) he puts his towel on my jeans in the morning after he showers, and 2) i don't talk much around him in tracting or teaching compaired to when i'm with the other elders (i'm too comfortable with him talking, and he does that alot).
Well the end of my first real transfer is in just two weeks! I will be staying here with the Marx, since I'm still being trained but it's still exciting to say. Most of the time, the time goes too fast here. I love it and the work is great!
I'm still working hard, or at least trying. This week I'm planning on being less distracted by other things. It's gonna be a good week. I hope you are all doing well. I got this fake spider on Halloween, I keep introducing it to Hightower! So far they don't get along so well. Maybe things will work out when I put the spider behind his shampoo in the shower though.. we'll see.--
So anyway, keep doing all the good stuff we know we're supposed to be doing. Remember that life's not always easy, but even still, if you're not having fun then you're doing something wrong.
love you all

This last week has been good for the most part. We're still doing a lot of finding. We're teaching Bob and Leilani, they both rock. Bob came to all of church yesterday. It was really long for him but he liked the meetings.. I think. Leilani came to a baptism and seemed to enjoy it. She came with her mom/aunt person and a friend but they didn't stay after long so I didn't get to talk to them much. Shauna and Keanu came back onto the map all of a sudden.. right after the baptism I got a call from Shauna. Travis died from what is thought to be a drug overdose. So she's a wreck. It was finally moving day for them and they were getting out of her sister's house and into their own place. So it happened at a terrible time. But he had never been happier in his life before he died. Me and hightower think he'll progress a lot more in the spirit world though and he'll be freed from some of the junk he's been dealing with here. Shauna and Keanu [will] be fine.
I went on exchanges with some priest that's from the other side of Spokane. That was cool. The mission office gave him to me, Hightower got one too. It was a 24 hr exchange, 6:00 fri-6:00 sat. It was hard since I've never had to do all the talking and the planning and all the everything else. Matt was the kid's name, he didn't talk much at all. He pretty much wouldn't talk unless I talked to him first or something. I can tract and plan and do everything a ton better though. It's hard to have control but I can do it I guess. I'm taking over the area as of tomorrow. Hightower is going Zone Leader with Elder Roholt. So I'm taking over the area and getting Elder Monch whoever that is. My time's up again.
love ya all
